Outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will not attend the informal meeting of EU heads of state and government on April 23–24 due to his duties related to the government transition, the Minister responsible for European Union affairs announced on his Facebook page on Thursday.
János Bóka wrote that since no decisions will be made at the informal meeting and no written conclusions will be adopted, the Prime Minister will not be asking anyone to represent Hungary, hirado.hu reported.

“The agenda for the meeting includes the crisis in the Middle East and its impact on Europe, as well as general issues regarding the next seven-year EU budget. The Hungarian government’s position on these matters is well known and has not changed.”
We have informed the office of the President of the European Council of this,”
he added.
The minister wrote that Hungary will not be represented at the political level at the informal meeting, but will be briefed on the general direction of the discussions.
