VisitBalaton365, a year-round destination management organization, has launched a new campaign aimed at strengthening Lake Balaton’s appeal beyond the traditional summer peak. Unveiled on Thursday, the initiative puts a spotlight on the region’s springtime experiences, focusing on experience-driven trips and encouraging visitors to discover Lake Balaton through active recreation as well as its rich wine and culinary scene.
A central element of the campaign, running from March 19 to May 24, is the “VisitBadacsony – Get a Taste of Badacsony!” initiative, in which 13 service providers have joined forces to present Badacsony as a complex micro-region, showcasing its wine, gastronomy, and tourism offerings.

As part of this, 36 short videos were produced to showcase the region’s atmosphere, flavors, and character, primarily on social media platforms.
The Balaton Shipping Company (BAHART) is also involved in the campaign. CEO Gábor Veigl noted in the press release that boating on Lake Balaton is much more than just transportation: it creates experiences, connections, and access between the lake’s various regions.
During the spring season, BAHART aims to contribute to a unified guest experience connecting the entire Lake Balaton region by also improving access to Badacsony.

The press release quoted Péter Princzinger, managing director of VisitBalaton365, who said their goal is to link Lake Balaton not to a single season, but to experiences. They are considering experience-based projects implemented in collaboration with service providers. The organization is working to make Lake Balaton an attractive destination year-round. The VisitBadacsony campaign is a tangible example of this approach.

The communication is based on an experience-driven approach that builds on specific programs, service providers, and easily plannable offers, and places a strong emphasis on digital presence and short video content.
