Argentina’s rabble rousing president has joined fellow conservatives at the CPAC Hungary 2026 conference. In his speech President Milei said that he admires Hungary because it is home to so many visionary minds.
Hungary not only has a fantastic history but also traditions that are emblematic of this nation’s fight against murderous collectivism, against the woke, against socialism, and against globalists. It is our love for our country and freedom that bind us together, and of course, our personal friendship and mutual admiration with Viktor Orbán, the Argentine president said.

Milei explained that morality is at the center of his politics. “Three variables must be taken into account in every government decision. The first is the moral question: is this ethically right? As Marcus Aurelius said in his book “Meditations”, if the act is not right, and if it is not true, then do not say it! The second factor to consider is whether the measure is economically efficient—that is, whether it creates prosperity. And finally, the third criterion lies in political benefit—he explained, adding: for us, who think in terms of generations rather than political cycles, this order is clear and self-evident; what is morally right— that is, the protection of the right to life, liberty, and property —always takes precedence without exception,” president Milei explained.
He continued by saying that his predecessors’ poor policies did not allow for growth, but he took measures early in his office that succeeded in halting Argentina’s decline. As he said, for decades in Europe the exact opposite decision-making principles have prevailed: politicians first considered what was in their own interest, while what is economically effective and morally right was the very last thing on their minds.
Javier Milei said that Hungary and Argentina are two countries for which this is perfectly clear.

In the name of compassion, they attack property rights; in the name of equality, they destroy merit. In the name of a hollow universal approach, they hand over national sovereignty to bureaucrats whom no one has elected. Whenever European politics has made a bad decision, it has done so in the name of some noble cause. But this is a trick, this is the trap, this is the scam. Because behind every noble cause lies a very concrete political agenda: to make people dependent, to create voters—he explained. As Javier Milei said, Viktor Orbán was the first to stand up against this.
He was the first to stand up to the whole “well-conceived” European Union and say what no one wanted to hear: that the West is in danger, heading toward suicide; that Europe, in the face of uncontrolled, mass immigration, is not being generous but is acting irresponsibly toward its own people. He said this even when he paid a very high price for it and this is called courage.
Years later, the facts proved Mr. Orbán right. And this is precisely what distinguishes a statesman from a politician: the statesman speaks the truth before it is even expedient to say it, or before it would be convenient.

As he noted, Europe does not need to reinvent itself – it must rediscover itself, return to its roots, regain its confidence in its history, and leave behind the logic of constant guilt. Hungary has a central role to play on this path, and Viktor Orbán has become one of the most resolute and courageous voices in the effort to make Europe great again and set it on the right path, he stated, emphasizing:
The decision of the Hungarian people will resonate throughout Europe, because when a nation stands up against the pressure of political conformity, it shows other countries that it is possible to resist and even to prevail.
