Political interference organized and financed from abroad took place during the 2022 election, and its effects are still being felt today. Currently, TISZA’s campaign is being aided by a network of corrupt agents paid from abroad, stated Government Commissioner András László, who was responsible for compiling the report.
An extensive international network funds and coordinates figures, journalists, activists, and NGOs linked to the Hungarian left. This network did not end with the Joe Biden administration; it is just that Brussels has now taken Washington’s place: the same network that supported the left-wing coalition campaign in 2022 is now supporting TISZA (main opposition party in Hungary – editor’s note). Their goal is to overthrow the national government, the report states.

The report details the international corruption network through which the American left—under President Joe Biden—intervened in the Hungarian elections using political and financial means and supported efforts to overthrow the national government.
As they note, Hungary has been a prime target of foreign interference for years, and the level of foreign funding has surged significantly. Between 2022 and 2025, Hungarian left-wing organizations, journalists, and broadcasters received at least 3.5 billion forints in funding through the USAID. The flow of dollars did not stop even after the left’s defeat in the 2022 election, the American left has settled in for constant interference. The funds allocated at that time continue to significantly support the network’s operations today.
Based on the report, the funds arrived in Hungary through an extensive international network of intermediaries. The U.S. Department of State, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and organizations linked to the Soros network played a key role in the financing. Numerous international organizations play key roles in the funding network, including the German Marshall Fund and Globsec.
The “investigative journalist” who published the fake news about Russian interference in the Hungarian election campaign just got busted.

“The latter is particularly noteworthy, as Anita Orbán (Foreign Affairs Chief of the opposition party- editor’s note) also came to the TISZA Party from Globsec. These organizations not only finance but also coordinate intervention activities in Hungary. Also part of the network is Szabolcs Panyi, who was implicated in the Tisza phone hacking scandal, whose activities are financed from abroad through multiple channels,” the summary states.
András László points out that although the Trump administration halted USAID programs and dissolved the organization, the network of corruption and agents has not disappeared; it is merely seeking new sources of funding, now primarily in Brussels. Through similar programs, the European Commission today often supports the very same organizations that previously benefited from the flowing dollars.
“Foreign interference and funding are still evident today; only Brussels has taken Washington’s place, and the same network of corruption and agents is now aiding the TISZA,” reads the statement.
