In his opening remarks at CPAC Hungary 2026, the Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized that the stakes for the upcoming April parliamentary elections are higher than ever before. He called for Europe to be returned to European nations instead of being controlled by an unaccountable bureaucracy in Brussels.
U.S. President Donald Trump has greeted the conference in a video message. In this he repeated his “total endorsement” for Prime Minister Orbán in the April elections. The president emphasized that Viktor Orbán has demonstrated that if there is will, national borders can be successfully defended and crime can be suppressed.
He also expressed his wish that Viktor Orbán should win in the upcoming April elections – he must “win big”, he emphasized. He promised that he will continue to work intensively with Hungary, especially on energy security. President Trump finally expressed his goal, which is to get Europe back to its original shape.

The conference continued with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s keynote speech. In this he expressed his opinion that
since the victory of President Trump in the U.S., the world has become a better place. He has suppressed gender propaganda and has put family into the center of his policies.
He ended the censorship by progressive forces and stopped the “madness” of green policies. Since his presidency we can say freely that we do not want illegal mass migration. This is something we must thank President Trump for, emphasized Prime Minister Orbán.
He continued by thanking the U.S. president for melting the previously icy relationship between America and Hungary after years of the frosty relations under the administration of Joe Biden. He called present cooperation the “golden age” of American-Hungarian relations. There have been a number of strategic agreements signed in recent months, especially in the field of energy, as well as dozens of new investments by American companies, he reminded.
The Prime Minister also greeted Argentinian President Javier Milei, who, in his words, has fixed Argentina after years of left-win madness. Milei has shown that the key to success is simply common sense, not progressive ideology. Today, Argentina is a bastion of right-wing forces and its president is a “rock star” of Western values, said Viktor Orbán.
He continued by saying that patriotic forces have also become stronger in Europe. As an example he brought up the Czech Republic after last year’s win of Prime Minister Andrej Babis. Mr. Orbán called the new Czech government the government of “common sense”, pointing out that without the Czechs there is not strong Central Europe. He also expressed his solidarity with his Czech counterpart after a suspected arson attack in a military warehouse in the town of Pardubice.

Mr. Orbán also spoke about the situation in Germany. “The ground is shaking in Germany”, he said, despite constant harassment of conservative politicians by the German intelligence services and censorship. Patriots have a very difficult time in Germany these days, he said, before greeting Alice Weidel, co-leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, who is amid the guest speakers of CPAC Hungary 2026.
Mr. Orbán also spoke about the situation in Iran. He pointed out that leaders at the Thursday EU summit in Brussels have pledged to close their borders should another migration wave hit Europe from the Middle East. “Just like we did ten years ago”, he added with a touch of irony.
CPAC is the world’s largest conspiracy, he continued his speech. However, in a couple of years the entire world will be covered in patriotic colors. What is happening now is the largest shift in the recent history of Western civilization. The epicenter of this is in the U.S.A, but its European forward post is actually Hungary, said the Prime Minister. “We are fighting for the soul of the Western world, and this struggle is being fought on a number of levels: at universities, in the churches or even in the realm of economy.
But we are the ones who believe in our own people, us, conservatives.
We are representing the cause of our own nation, our nation is number one for us, Mr. Orbán pointed out.
In the past we though that there is no point in organizing an international alliance of national forces. But now we understand that if we want to defeat progressive forces, we have to start to think in international perspectives. Progressives have dug themselves in in Brussels and the left has become master in the largest countries in Europe. But the EU leadership in Brussels has brought Europe into an untenable situation in the past twenty years, warned Viktor Orbán. For them migrants are a priority. The green deal has brought European industry on its knees and has brought about an economic downfall not seen before. Even today, Ukraine is a priority of the EU leadership that wants to continue the war. At the same time European democracy is dying: censorship, a dangerous network of NGOs, Brussels’ interference in national elections and their financial support for federalist political forces.
They are the one who openly demand a pro-Ukrainian government in Hungary. “But they will not get it, my friends”,
said Mr. Orbán.
It is our turn now, the next elections in Europe are here, the Prime Minister pointed out. We are on our home turf, but still on a difficult one. For sixteen years we have been a bastion of national conservative forces. The destruction of this bastion would be the greatest victory for progressive forces in the world. Hungary is pressured by Brussels from the West, and by a Ukrainian oil blockade from the East. The Prime Minister has pledged to deflect the Ukrainian oil blockade. He has pointed out that the Ukrainian government has not succeeded in destabilizing Hungary’s energy grid, and Hungarian families continue to pay the lowest domestic energy prices in Europe.
But the stakes are higher than ever before, warned Viktor Orbán. If the current government parties win, they will not only continue to protect Hungary, but will also “kick in the door” in Brussels. Europe must be returned to the nations of Europe, closed his address Viktor Orbán.
