Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has traveled to Davos, where he will sign Hungary’s accession to the Peace Council. In a video posted on social media, the Prime Minister also stated that after the negotiations he would travel to Brussels to attend the European Council meeting.
“We thought we would have to be in Brussels on Thursday evening, but no, because on Thursday morning we will already be meeting with President Trump in Davos, with polished shoes and ironed trousers, to sign Hungary’s accession to the Peace Council on behalf of Hungary, for which I have been given the power of attorney in the government meeting,” Viktor Orbán explained in his video.
We will talk to the president and then fly to Brussels, where the meeting of prime ministers awaits us in the evening,”

said the head of government, adding: “God alone knows how long it will take, whether until dawn or late into the night, because the agenda is full, partly because of the American president. For example, there is Greenland and the associated threat of new tariffs. Thus we are in for a grueling negotiation on Thursday evening in Brussels,” he added.
As Hungary Today previously reported, Donald Trump has officially invited Hungary to join the Peace Council as a founding member. According to the American president, the council will not only serve in an advisory capacity, but will also function as a new international institution and interim governing body.
