Alex Tóth will continue his career with AFC Bournemouth, a soccer team in the English Premier League. The player signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
The 20-year-old midfielder transferred from Hungarian champions and Europa League participants Ferencváros to the British club, for whom Hungarian international Milos Kerkez also played until last summer. The club first announced the signing in a mysterious post on Tuesday on X, featuring a red, white, and green Rubik’s cube, and then presented its new acquisition with a short film showing him signing his contract.

“It feels amazing to be a part of this club and I am excited to achieve good things,” said Alex Tóth in his first interview on the team’s website.
“When I knew AFC Bournemouth were first interested in me, I was excited and happy because this is a good club in the Premier League, the best league in the world and the strongest league,” he noted.
“The whole club, the whole structure is great. When I was speaking to the directors, it was quite obvious for me because they were such good guys.
I am really looking forward to achieving great things and making good results with this team,” the Hungarian talent added.
According to press reports, the club, currently in 15th place in the English top flight, will pay FTC €12 million plus bonuses for Alex Tóth, who has played for the national team nine times.

The transfer sets a new record, as no footballer playing in Hungary has ever been sold for such a fee.
Alex Tóth made his debut in the Hungarian top flight in May 2023, but only became a regular team member after Robbie Keane was appointed head coach in the spring of last season, having previously played mostly for second-division Soroksár. He played his first game for the national team in March last year.
The record-breaking Hungarian club bid farewell to its player with an emotional video. Gábor Kubatov, president of FTC, emphasized in connection with the transfer that Alex Tóth is one of the most inspiring stories in Hungarian football.
