On Sunday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán posted on Facebook a letter in which U.S. President Donald Trump invited Hungary to join the Gaza Board of Peace, and announced that he had accepted the invitation.
In his letter, the American president describes the effort to consolidate peace in the Middle East as vitally important, historic, and magnificent, while also writing that it marks the beginning of a new and bold approach to global conflict management.

Donald Trump recalls that he presented his Gaza peace plan at the end of September, which quickly won the support of many leaders in the Arab world, Israel, and Europe, and in November, the UN Security Council also expressed its support for the plan.

“Now it is time to turn all of these Dreams into reality,” writes the U.S. president.
As he writes, at the heart of the plan is the Board of Peace, “the most impressive and consequential Board ever assembled,” which will be established as a new international institution and transitional governing body.
“Our effort will bring together a distinguished group of nations that are ready to shoulder the noble responsibility of building LASTING PEACE, an Honor reserved for those prepared to lead by example,” wrote Donald Trump, who says the body will meet in the near future.
As Chairman of the Board, I formally invite Hungary to join as a Founding Member State, and become a party to the Charter of The Board of Peace, as represented by you,”
the letter reads.
“The Board will be one of a kind, there has never been anything like it!” writes Donald Trump.
According to the letter, each member state can decide for itself who will represent it at the meetings. The president wrote that he attached his 20-point peace plan and the Peace Council charter to the letter.
“I look forward to working with you for a long time to come to achieve world peace, prosperity, and greatness for all,” the American president concludes his letter.
