The organization’s president, László Csizmadia, announced the event at a press conference on Tuesday, but the exact route will be revealed later by the organizers. László Csizmadia encouraged everyone to participate in the Peace March.
As Hungary Today reported, the last Peace March was held on October 23 last year, and it was attended by a huge crowd. Hundreds of thousands of Hungarians have joined the annual Peace March in Budapest commemorating the heroes of the 1956 anti-communist revolution. After the event, participants listened to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s ceremonial speech in Kossuth Square.
The Peace March will take place roughly one month before Hungary’s parliamentary elections on April 12, adding further political significance to the event amid the intensifying campaign period.
