Roughly one-third of all bookings are for the Lake Balaton region, while 16% target Northern Hungary. The Western Transdanubia, Northern Great Plain, and Southern Great Plain regions each account for 10% of bookings.
The most sought-after destinations during this period include Siófok, Budapest, Hajdúszoboszló, Eger, Balatonfüred, and Gyula. Other popular choices based on booking trends are Debrecen, Hévíz, Nyíregyháza, and Balatonlelle.
In terms of trip duration, one-third of reservations are for two nights, while one in five spans three nights. Single-night stays make up a quarter of all bookings, and 13% cover four nights. Stays of five nights or longer account for 9% of the total. Notably, 75% of bookings are under HUF 170,000 (cc. EUR 430).
Between August 1 and 17, Szallas.hu recorded a 60% increase in bookings and a 79% rise in guest nights compared to the same period in July.

By contrast, during the same stretch in August last year, bookings rose by 35% and guest nights by 55% over July. The platform attributes this year’s steeper growth in part to the stormy weather that dampened travel plans in July, prompting a stronger shift toward August getaways.
