Dominik Szoboszlai has been voted the Player of Matchweek 3 in the English Premier League. The recognition comes after a standout performance in Liverpool’s 1–0 victory over Arsenal, during which Szoboszlai played an unfamiliar but highly effective role at right-back.
The Premier League held a public vote on its website, where fans could choose their standout player of the week. Szoboszlai, who also serves as the captain of the Hungarian national team, secured an impressive 37 percent of the total votes.
The 23-year-old made headlines on Sunday afternoon after delivering a sensational free-kick goal that proved to be the match-winner.
Not only did he shine in an unfamiliar defensive position under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, but his technical brilliance and composure under pressure played a decisive role in securing all three points for the Reds.

Szoboszlai’s dominance in the fan vote was undisputed. In second place came João Pedro, Chelsea’s forward, who earned 18 percent of the vote. Third place went to Jack Grealish (Everton) who received 16 percent.
Following the win, Liverpool remains the only team in the league with a perfect record after three rounds, and currently sits at the top of the Premier League table. The early form of both the team and Szoboszlai suggests a strong start to the season and high hopes among fans for a potential title challenge.
