The Rákóczi Association will welcome 260 Ukrainian children, including many orphans, who are the most vulnerable victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war, to its camp in Sátoraljaújhely ( northeastern Hungary) between August 31 and September 5.
The children arriving from the war zone were invited by the Rákóczi Association with the cooperation of the Hungarian Consulate General in Uzhhorod (Ungvár) and the Ukrainian military administration.
They also announced that in the summer of 2025, the Rákóczi Association welcomed in total 1,746 Ukrainian campers, including ethnic Hungarians from Ukraine.
Since the outbreak of the war, the Rákóczi Camp in Sátoraljaújhely has provided nearly 11,000 Ukrainian citizens, including Hungarians and non-Hungarians, with an opportunity to escape from their war-torn everyday lives.
